For the first time in 23 years the AES (Audio Engineering Society) is holding its convention and exhibition in London at the Novotel London West in Hammersmith. The exhibition runs from 23rd to 25th May and the conference 22nd to 25th May and most importantly, Stagetec, Delec and RTW, three of the companies that we represent will be there to bring you their latest developments.

23 years is a long time to wait for an exhibition to come round again so we know you won't want to miss it this time. You can get a free admittance voucher today and today only, 20th May, by emailing and we look forward to seeing you there.

 Kind regards

First Showing in the UK of the RTW TouchMonitor on Stand 1310

Now if you didn't get to NAB this year you won't have seen RTW's new TouchMonitor, but this is easily remedied by coming along to stand 1310 at the AES.

The TouchMonitor is an entirely new concept in audio metering, you buy what you need and then add more software modules as and when you want them. The standard version is a 2 channel PPM, vectorscope and correlator but the options include the renowned RTW "House" Surround Sound Analyser, Loudness and Spectrum Analyser and the  various I/O options include analogue, AES3, AES3id and 3G SDI.

Available with a 7" or 9" screen the TouchMonitor is as flexible as the finger or mouse that you use to control it.

But if it's the whole nine yards in surround you're after then the flagship 31900 will fit the bill. It's an 8 channel surround sound monitoring controller, meter and analyser in one 19" 1u box with remote that you can use with external VGA displays. There's an optional SDI HD/SD 16ch de-embedder and a Dolby® E/AC-3 decoder and the guys from RTW will be more than happy to give you a demonstration on the stand.

Stagetec AURUS - Radio 1's Big Weekend or AES Stand 1209?

Five Stagetec AURUS consoles installed in BBC Radio's new fleet of Outside Broadcast trucks are being put through their paces on Saturday and Sunday at Radio 1's Big Weekend in Bangor where the line up includes Cheryl Cole, Pendulum and Rihanna.  But goodness me, who wants to be at a festival when you can be at AES and see this outstanding console for yourself on stand 1209?! We may not have Dizzee Rascal on the main stage but Sam de Pauw the International Sales Manager from Stagetec will be on hand to personally demonstrate the AURUS for you.

The AURUS is a modular design with the option of up to 300 audio channels, 128 mix buses and 96 channel strips. The NEXUS STAR is the routing system that controls the AURUS and includes the system's DSP. The NEXUS system is also modular with a very flexible I/O configuration that allows you to have almost any combination of analogue and digital formats that your facility might need.

You can book your demonstration of the AURUS by emailingtouch@aspen-media.comor call 01296 681313.

You can read more about the AURUS herewww.aspen-media.com/aurus. You'll find the brochure to download too.

DelecDemonstrates Oratis Its Latest Intercom and Commentary Systems - Stand 1209

Oratis is a reliable and scalable intercom that can be as tiny as an 8 port system up to a massive 4096 port configuration used in studios, outside broadcast and theatres worldwide.

The heart of the system is a fully summing router with the primary interconnects via fibre or Ethernet Layer 2. For an intercom system in a live broadcast situation, reliability must be the most important issue and Delec takes this on board with the use of redundant architecture, distributed intelligence and dual power supplies. The subscriber panels come as desktop or 1u panels and each have 64 destinations and 16 four-layer, active colour-coded keys showing line status with an easy-to-read 18 character graphic display.

The Delec Oratis can also be configured as a multi-user commentary system.

The AES will be an excellent opportunity to see the Oratis in both its forms and to meet the architect of this exceptional system as Donald Dilocker will be there to answer any questions you might have.
