The BVE02-PV provides automated mixing for the Yamaha DM1000, 02R96 and DM2000 audio mixers in a studio gallery or for outside broadcast under the control of a vision switcher. The BVE02-PV enables effective single-operator control of both audio and video for News or Magazine programming.
- Audio Preview permits preset adjustment of Next-Up sources
- Remote fader unit option for single operator audio & video control
- Multiple concurrent sources
- Stereo and 5.1 mixing and monitoring
- Preset audio levels for each vision source automatically recalled
The Digital Solutions BVE02 ESAM interface connects between a vision switcher and a Yamaha digital audio mixer to provide automated audio mixing under the control of the vision switcher.
The vision switcher set-up associates groups of audio mixer channels with each vision source and automatically opens the correct faders when a vision source is selected to the Program Bus.
When the Next-up vision source is selected to the Preset Bus and Audio Preview selected, the associated audio channels are heard through the monitoring system and are presented on a dedicated group of faders on the mixer. The faders for these channels may then be adjusted to deliver the correct levels, before the source is switched to air. Subsequently, these preset audio levels are automatically applied whenever that source is opened to the Program Bus.
When connected to a suitably enabled vision switcher, such as the Snell Kahuna, an extension to the ESAM control protocol exclusive to the BVE02-PV, allows the audio for multiple concurrent vision sources to be opened to the program bus. This permits automated audio mixing of, for example, live three-way discussions or the audio supporting graphic effects or idents; something previously impossible using standard ESAM implementations.
The BVE02-PV is equipped to connect to a JLCooper ES4/100 remote desktop fader unit that can be installed immediately beside the vision switcher, allowing a single operator to easily manage both audio and video for News or magazine programmes, that do not warrant separate vision and sound operators.
The standard facilities of these Yamaha audio mixers remain unaffected by the connection of the BVE02-PV, making them the ideal choice for smaller live production.
