Workflow rates can be significantly improved when the editing system is commanded from a set of dedicated hardware controls instead of a standard keyboard/mouse and on-screen icons. The Eclipse SX Midnight is essentially the colour correction/grading control section of the Eclipse CX Midnight. Like the CX, it interfaces with Apple Color 1.5, IRIDAS Speedgrade or IFX Piranha Cinema directly. Enhanced functionality and an expanded range of compatible applications can be gained by installing the optional JLCooper Eclipse Ethernet software on the host computer.
Control is via three elegant, custom trackerballs with outer rotating control rings, six rotary encoders and context-sensitive displays. The SX’s ergonomic layout and low-level displays reduce eye strain. The SX’s styling will blend effortlessly into the décor of any edit suite.
Two matching “extender” modules can be added to the system at any time. The Eclipse MX Midnight, a sound mix control panel with motorised faders, provides the operator with control of audio parameters, while the Eclipse TX Midnight adds transport control.
