Aspen Media was founded in 1995 by its Director Chris Collings. Chris has a background that includes the manufacture and sales of audio equipment and with these skills and plenty of hard work, he has developed the company from a one-man-band into a high-end, independent, professional audio supplier with customers that include the BBC, London Studios, Lime Pictures, Sony BPE and Tandberg TV to name but a few.
Chris’s ethos is to supply niche products and problem solvers. He is passionate about customer care and has a wealth of knowledge that he is always happy to share when one of his customers has a problem.
Aspen Media is the UK and Ireland distributor for Delec, Digital Solutions, JLCooper, Jünger Audio, RTW and Stagetec. Originally, the company concentrated on pro-audio markets, offering bespoke tools and equipment for recording, post production and broadcast. As these industries began to adopt lower cost, mass produced products, the company focused on the broadcast sector where it has been successful in supplying, amongst many other things, the Delec intercom system into the new BBC Broadcasting House, Stagetec mixing consoles to BBC Radio Outside Broadcast and automated mixing systems for sports-television.
Aspen Media has a "sister" website specialising in the sale of MADI products (Multichannel Audio Digital Interface) format www.aspen-madi.com.
Until recently, Aspen Media ran a service section for ADAT and DTRS machines alongside its sales department but this side of the business was closed in 2009 and the sales arm expanded. This expansion has given the company the opportunity to increase the Aspen Media product range by including Intracom’s VCOM network intercom.
Aspen Media was located in the Industrial Area of Hemel Hempstead before moving to idyllic countryside premises in Wingrave, Buckinghamshire in 2005. The offices are surrounded by fields populated with hares, deer, pheasants and partridges while red kites, buzzards and Easyjet soar overhead.
