TAC System VMC-102 Atmos & multi-stem monitoring controller
BVE will see the UK launch of the VMC-102 an advanced studio monitoring controller from Japanese manufacturer Tac System.
Built for Dolby Atmos or MPEG-H immersive film, post and broadcast sound mixing in studios using Pro Tools, Avid or Pyramix systems, the VMC-102 is a compact, well-designed free-standing unit that includes all the standard monitoring functions – level, mute, dim, speaker selection, talkback, etc and for Avid S6 users there’s a version that slots neatly into your desk.
The VMC-102 is also a perfect fit for those needing to graduate to mixing with stems – removing the frustrating restrictions imposed by the simple single-5.1-input monitoring sections of most consoles or controllers. The VMC-102 puts you in control of the number and width of the stems you want to work with.
Fortunately, the VMC-102 is designed to integrate with the DirectOut ANDIAMO 2 bidirectional MADI interfaces from DirectOut, which, incidentally, we just happen to distribute too.
Better quality TV, voice overs, commentary…
Those interested in better quality audio in TV, radio and other similar environments, with or without an attendant sound technician, should drop by stand G30 at BVE to see Junger Audio’s range of audio processors that deliver just that and lower production costs.
Take the D*AP8 TAP EDITION for example, it’s an 8 channel loudness manager and audio processor that includes Spectral Signature dynamic EQ for matching audio “fingerprints”. It’s got 5.1 upmix and downmix and optional loudness logging and its many I/O options include SDI, Audio-over-IP Dante and MADI. There are also Dolby decoding and encoding options.
The D*AP4 VAP EDITION also features Spectral Signature and a load of these processors have recently been installed by Input Media in its new voice over studios in West London.
There’s the D*AP8 MAP EDITION, an 8 channel audio monitoring processor for TX and QA surround and stereo monitoring control and measurement and CODEC EDITION audio codec for Dolby D/E/Pro Logic 11 Decoding and optional encoding.
A regular and popular figure on our stand is Anthony Wilkins, Junger Audio’s International Sales Manager who will be joining us again this year. He is very knowledgeable about the whole Junger range, so come armed with plenty of questions.
DELEC – Not just famous for its intercom
Intercom manufacturer DELEC has introduced unito, a range of versatile audio networking interfaces and we’re lucky enough to have two of them on our stand G30 at BVE. DIO, short for Dante Input Output, is a small, low cost device that will sit in the network and provide a host of interfaces and conversion possibilities. It has two 1GB Ethernet ports, AES3 I/O, stereo line I/O, two GPIOs plus a stereo headphone amp and a mic preamp making it ideal for voice over booths and commentary. www.delec.de NIO 0204 is a Dante audio interface that is proving very useful for remote acquisition, as a recording and monitoring device for a DAW or a general multi-format Dante I/O unit. www.aspen-media.com/nio0204 NIO 0204 is just 1/2 rack width, includes two mic inputs that use high quality 32-bit preamps and a stereo
headphone output with a local volume control. It has AES3 I/O and stereo, balanced analogue I/O. However our stand would not be complete if we didn’t show the famous Oratis compact intercom and this year it comes complete with Dante networking capability.
